About Me
I was born in Houston, Texas, in 1980. When I was three, my family moved back to my dad’s small hometown in northeast Louisiana where I remember climbing trees, going to football games every Friday night, and walking to the levee with family friends to watch fireworks on July 4th. When I was 17, we moved back to the Houston area.
The next year, I reinstated myself as a Texan by going to Texas A&M University. I met my husband at an on-campus Bible study and we married in 2000. After I graduated with a BS in Finance in 2002, we moved to Philadelphia for Husband to go to graduate school and I worked as a Business Manager for a large retailer. I quickly realized that I enjoyed working with people much more than numbers! We settled into downtown Philly, experienced a real fall season for the first time, and formed a close knit group of friends. However, homesickness set in over our three years there and we came home to Houston in 2005.
Our first child was born in 2006, and our second in 2010, two beautiful, healthy baby boys. Because of fertility challenges, we decided to add our third child to our family through adoption. Our daughter arrived in 2013, and we brought her home as a newborn. Being their Mom is the greatest joy of my life.
I have struggled on and off with health issues since 2010, and finally in 2016 was diagnosed with Lyme disease (please see My Story for details). It has been an uphill battle to regain my health & life, but I did not give up and in 2024 my doctor confirmed that I am in Lyme remission.
Nutrition has been a personal focus of mine for over a decade. At first, it was a fascinating experiment as I felt the difference that it made in my health. However, soon it became a passion and a way of life. Over the years I’ve added other daily habits to create a healthy lifestyle. By God’s grace, this lifestyle gave me back a life that I love.
My healing was also obvious to others and they soon began asking what I had done to feel better. Sharing my story and helping others with Lyme disease became another type of healing for me. Now, as a certified Transformational Nutrition Coach (CTNC) with an Autoimmune Disease specialty, I help others heal like I have.
